At Alcova Milan, held at Villa Borsani in Varedo—a residence deeply connected to design—we presented a series of lighting works titled Bel Air. This collection includes prototypes designed around the idea of “breaking” light, much like cracking an eggshell. These models serve as experimental tests for a concept that reconsiders the essence of lighting—not merely as a physical object but as the surrounding atmosphere, traces, and lingering presence it creates. The design distills this idea into a refined, product-oriented form.
This year’s Alcova took place across two locations within the same district. Villa Borsani, the venue we participated in, is a landmark of 20th-century Italian modernism and a designated cultural heritage site. Exhibiting within this architectural masterpiece was itself a rare and valuable opportunity.
