It was a great honor to announce that Torr I designed for Ambientec Corporation had won the Good Design Award of Japan, 2017. The Good Design Award is an annual award organized by the Japan Institute of Design Promotion and is given to the best in a wide range of fields such as industrial products, business models, and event activities.
The jury commented, “This is a product that presents a new way of being a mobile light today. The portability and small footprint of the cordless system greatly expand the possibilities for places where mobile lights are used. The gimmick of turning the top of the volume, which looks like a triangular pillar object, to turn on is also interesting. Most importantly, it is wonderful to be thought carefully about the appearance in the space, both when the lights are on and when they are off.”
