A wooden stacking chair, that connected the seat and the back by a part which has wedge-shaped section. The structure like this chair seems fresh, at the same time, it is not a common way because the strength may be insufficient when considering the direction of the force applied. From the front view, a banded line appears between the back and the seat, create a rhythm in the space where the chairs are placed.Although it is a prototype, this work confirms what it means to design an ordinary chair, and whether it is possible to update even a part of that.

座面と背もたれを楔型の断面を持つ部材で接続する構造を持つ木製のスタッキングチェア。背もたれに加わる力を考慮するとやや難しい構造である一方、座と背の中間領域をデザインし直すことで正面から見た際の端正な帯状のラインが発生し、構造的にもそれまでには無かった新鮮さをもたらします。横に並べた際には空間上に帯状のラインが浮かび上がることにもなり、連続性により空間を引き締めることにもなるでしょう。プロトタイプですが、いわゆる普通の椅子を今デザインすることにどのような意味があるのか、また普通の椅子というものを一部だけでも更新することが可能なのかを検証した作品です。
